Yusuke Miyashita - A Rising Star in Green Design

After our recent post on treehugger.com, we thought it was the perfect time to showcase Grooveking's very own, very special "green man". Yusuke Miyashita, male spokesemodel for Grooveking and Stanford Product Designer, is making a mark in the world of green design. Yusuke is currently working on the problem of lack of nature in urban and corporate environments. People tend to get stuck under fluorescent lights in a cubicle somewhere - never get to see anything from the natural world. Yusuke is creating a slew of products that draw us back into nature even in our urban dwellings. Although we cannot disclose what Yusuke is currently working on specifically, we were able to get this awesome shot of him with a product concept in his studio in the Product Design Loft at Stanford University. We are continually awed by his dedication and passion. Look forward to future posts on his projects.

i hope he can bring that to the market, eventually even in the US. i think that nature in both work and school is a big peice of what's missing in those surroundings. the schools might claim that a window is nature, but that's like saying that beacuse your looking at an airplane you're flying in it. it's just not so. i am sure that i will not see this, but i hope that my children will.

as i'm sure you kow, being grooveking and all, that in ancient egypt, they would devote entire buildings to the healing ofpeople mentally and physicaly using only colored panes of glass and suns patterns. if you were feeling anxious, they would have you rest in a pool of cool water with blue purple and green lights reflecting from above. it is because of the positive effects of these colors that modern day studies have shown that relaxing colors can do wonders, such as improving consentration, reducing stress/suicidal urges, and even speed up healing processes.

if that weren't enough evidence to make you love the idea of urban/natural uinfusion, all native green leaf plants have the common ability to proccess carbon dioxide into oxygen, which also helps improve though concentration and general clarity of mind.
