Holy Crap! Parkour is THE Coolest Sport of All Time!
Well maybe not the coolest sport (Laser Tag still is tied for first), but when members of the Groove Kingdom saw footage of Parkour, our mouths dropped. Parkour, also known as freestyle running takes Matrix like hyper chase-scene moves and inflicts them on real world urban terrain. It is a must to check out this video of some of the best in action.According to Parkour.com, Sabastien Foucan developed the discipline of Parkour with his childhood friend David Belle, who practiced the 'Natural Method' of Parkour, Influence by his military father, also a great sportsman. Together Sabastien and David played and put in place a way of being - A Lifestyle - That lasted for more than ten years.
Heavily influenced by asian philosophy, Sabastian decided to immerse himself fully in his art in order to combat negative energy and becoming 'Fluid like water'. Becoming aware of the failings of art without context. He later chose to create his own path by developing the philosophy - His own method of learning based on autonomy, play and positive energy. Conveying to others his messages and philosophy has become Sabastien's quest. Sabastien has become a global ambassador of the Parkour / Free-Running discipline.
According to Sabastien: "Nobody ever invents anything - You're inspired and sometimes you can improve!"Sabbastien believes in the concept of "No violence, No competition, No Groups, No Chiefs."After understanding the history and philosophies of Parkour, the Groovekindom tips it's crown in respect. Our sources have told us that although this sport has not caught on yet much in the US, people are participating all over Europe.

Ill send you some photos when I get a chance. We have tons of footage.
Nice!!!! Do you think there was any special effects in that video or did they really jump from that roof in that video?
No that is Legit. That guy in that video is one of the founders of Parkour....It is also known as Free Running or Freestyle running.
What the fuck? I think you mix up two sports. It's big difference between freerunning and parkour. Parkour is how to move efficient through the environment bye only using your body and freerunning is a littlebit running and a lot of unefficient tricks.
Parkour is founded by David Belle and freerunning by Sebastien Foucan.
And parkour is not a sport!
mThere is a big difference between Parkour and freerunning, altough for a lot of people it looks the same.
Parkour is moving in a fast fluid and efficient way to reach your goal.. Tracers only use efficient moves when practising parkour.
Freerunning looks like parkour. The difference is that freerunners move in a gracefull and good looking way.. using every movment that looks good. A freerunner doesn't care about the efficiency of a move. They move because it looks cool. They use flips and other inefficient moves. that look good, but dont really have a purpose besides that.
Freerun is looking extreme and moving for show.
Parkour is moving efficient, Moving fast, dicipline and condition your body so that you can handle any situation.
A tracer (parkour practiser) should be able to think fast and move from point A to point B using their enviroment. That is efficiency, and that is Parkour
Freerunning and Parkour are NOT synonymous. Traceurs move fast and efficiently, Freerunners move aesthetically.
These two disciplines are commonly mistaken for each other and appear synonymous through media portrayal.
In the video there are no special effects. Everything is rock-solid-real. This is a new sport that can be practiced by anyone.
And yes there are two different sport disciplines: Parkour and Freerunning.
There are many communities all over the world. Starting from France (where all begun) and ending up in Japan or Australia.

Parkour is a sport, and Free Running is also, almost, a martial art. Because of Free Running being looked at as a "way of life" it has that martial art base to it. Read this: http://www.parkourpedia.com/index.php?id=1,12,0,0,1,0
